“Flow gently, sweet Afton! amang thy green braes, Flow gently, I’ll sing thee a song in thy praise.” The opening lines of a beautiful Robert Burns poem. This was the only other time we had ever heard the name Afton! Welcome to part two of our three wedding weekend blog posts. Meet Afton and Derek. We were super excited to capture this one. We met Afton through her sister Brittony. Brittony is a fellow parent at Lauren and my children’s preschool. Brittony also happens to be a great photographer and insisted we capture her sister’s big day. We are happy she did! They were married in the gardens of the Reading Public Museum and celebrated at the amazing Reading Art Works. Much of the morning was spent watching the sky drizzle on everything and everyone wondering whether hurricane Matthew was going to spoil the outdoor garden ceremony. The prospect of rain didn’t slow these two love birds down. We charged ahead and the rain cleared up. Everything was perfect. Special thanks go out to Lauren for helping me capture all of these moments. What would we do without her? Enjoy a sneak peak!
